Labor struggles|Volkswagen employees protested the closing of factories earlier in December by going on strike.
Volkswagen according to the union representing the employees, Volkswagen does not intend to close any factories in Germany. Previously, Volkswagen has announced that it is considering closing some factories for cost-saving reasons.
The trade union IG Metall says it has reached an agreement on cost-saving measures with Volkswagen. According to the union, keeping factories open means that employees are not fired.
However, Volkswagen says that it has agreed with the trade union to cut around 35,000 jobs in Germany by 2030.
The Volkswagen Group employs approximately 120,000 people in Germany.
