The first professional goal of Mussolini’s great-grandson

A goal that makes noise: not only because it is his first as a professional footballer and because it allowed Juve Stabia to beat and move ahead of Cesena in the standings, but because of the author’s surname, Romano Floriani Mussolini, great-grandson of the Duce and son of the former MEP Alessandra. The goal by the right back on loan from Lazio, who will turn 22 on January 27, was scored in the 21st minute of the first half.

The young footballer bears the surname of both his father (former officer of the Guardia di Finanza) and his mother, even if “F. Mussolini” is written on the back of the shirt. The speaker at the Castellammare Stabia stadium chanted: “Romano scored…:” and the home crowd shouted “Mussolini” in chorus.
With this victory, Juve Stabia rises to fourth place in the standings, behind Sassuolo, Spezia and Pisa.
