The government will pay Pemex’s debts with suppliers

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo acknowledged that there are delays in payments to Pemex suppliers, which is why she guaranteed that these will be settled in three stages: one part in December, another in January and one more in February.

He pledged that no supplier will be left without payment. There are resources to do it and it is a financial scheme that the Ministry of Finance is working on.he highlighted.

As part of the comprehensive program for Pemex, he said, investment is also planned for the following year, which includes exploration and production, in order to increase it, identify deposits and streamline processes.

In the case of refining, he commented, the Olmeca de Dos Bocas refinery and the two coking plants whose works began in the last administration (in Tula, Hidalgo, and in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca) will be consolidated; In addition, the maintenance of existing refineries will continue and investments will be made in fertilizers and petrochemicals.

Based on the recent constitutional reform that gave Pemex and the Federal Electricity Commission the status of public companies and not productive companies of the State, secondary laws of the parastatal will be modified in order to make it more efficient, he noted.

The president explained that with Enrique Peña Nieto’s energy reform, subsidiaries and affiliates were created that represent large expenses, and only now that the Constitution has been changed will it be possible to integrate many of them, again, vertically.
