A passenger plane crashed – serious fear for the lives of dozens of passengers

Preliminary reports on a model aircraft Embraer 190 that crashed near Kazakhstan: according to what is known so far, the Azerbaijan Airlines plane with 67 passengers and five crew members on board took off from Baku on its way to Grozny in Russia and crashed in the Kazakhstan region, not long before landing.Currently, 6 passengers are known to have survived the incident and there is great fear for the lives of the other passengers.

The aircraft, operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, went down near the Kazakh city of Aktau, according to local news agency Tengrinews.

Initial research found that due to heavy fog, the flight was diverted from its course, but it is not clear what led to the tragic end. Fire crews are still working in the area to put out the fire that was caused and in an attempt to find and rescue more survivors.

 

Azerbaijan Airlines stated that more information about the incident will be made available to the public soon.
