The 31-year-old driver’s car is said to have struck and run over four people on Shaftesbury Avenue at around 12:45 a.m. The victims were taken to a clinic with serious injuries. “One person’s life is still in danger,” said the police with.

The driver was arrested on site and taken into custody for attempted murder.

“It is believed the suspect was involved in an altercation at a nightclub before getting into his car and driving onto the pavement,” Deputy Assistant Commissioner Stuart Cundy said in London.

According to the police, the crime was an isolated incident and not terrorism. Investigators called on witnesses to come forward.
