The wife of the Latin star stole 100 million dollars from him
Two weeks after Latin superstar Daddy Yankee announced his separation from his wife of 20 years, Jardis Gonzalez, the divorce is taking an ugly turn – but really. The singer’s lawyer, Carlos Diaz Olivo, published a letter in which it was claimed that Gonzalez and her sister withdrew 100 million dollars from the singer’s bank accounts – without his knowledge. “This was without my client’s permission. This unfortunate situation means we have to go to court,” he wrote. The withdrawal of funds occurred after the two were unable to reach an agreement on the division of assets. Gonzalez went on the offensive and wrote: “I honestly and truly inform you that I live every day in God’s way, and that for irreconcilable reasons, we are in this divorce process. I understand that real change will not come by pretending, but by living a new lifestyle.” In another part of her letter, Mirdis asked to respect her family, and clarified that she will not accept slander of any kind: “I want to be ruled by justice and truth.”

Yankee announced about two weeks ago that he has started the divorce process from Gonzalez, who was his wife for 20 years and together they share two children together. The singer, who is behind the huge hits “Despacito” and “Gasolina”, wrote in a story that he uploaded to his Instagram page: “With a lot of respect and honesty – I want to share important news that concerns my personal life. After more than two decades of marriage and after many months of trying to save it – Today my lawyers are responding to the divorce request received from Mirdis,” he wrote, noting that his faith in God was a refuge for him at a time when they were trying to prevail about the differences between them.

“It wasn’t an easy time, but I understand it’s part of my process,” Yankee shared. “It’s time to accept it and move on – and protect my stability, my children and what has been built for so many years. I deeply thank those who accompanied us on this journey, and ask to respect our privacy – I know this news may surprise many. I am a prisoner Thank you for the time we shared, which was full of love – and a beautiful family that will continue to be our priority,” he concluded.
