More break-ins reported in Potsdam

There were further break-ins in Potsdam over Christmas and New Year’s Eve. As the police announced, those affected discovered both a break-in in commercial premises in Babelsberg Süd and a break-in in a single-family home in the Nauen suburb on Thursday and reported it to the police.

Storage rooms in the commercial property were broken into and motorcycle accessories and motorcycle clothing were stolen. The police estimate the total damage at several thousand euros. In the case of the single-family home, the perpetrators broke open the patio door and searched the rooms in the absence of the residents. According to initial findings, jewelry was stolen. The damage is estimated at 500 euros. Forensic scientists secured traces.

There has been an increase in break-ins in Potsdam since mid-December. On the last Sunday of the year alone, seven break-ins were reported in apartment buildings in various parts of the city. Unknown people were also active in several parts of the city on Boxing Day. The police said at the time that they were investigating a possible connection between the crimes.
