According to a report from the association of car importers, 271,735 cars were imported into Israel in 2024 (excluding private imports), 1,700 cars more than in 2023.
The sales leader in 2024 was Toyota, which suffered less from the Turkish embargo than its main competitor, the Hyundai concern. Toyota ended the year with sales of 34,464 vehicles, while Hyundai sold only 28,381 vehicles, as many of its European models are produced only in Turkey.
KIA is in third place with 25,727 vehicles sold, Skoda maintains its position as the most popular European brand in Israel with 19,260 vehicles.
Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD is in fifth place with 16,698 vehicles.
For the first time in history, China became the largest producing country of cars imported to Israel, from which 63,701 cars arrived in the country, that is, one in four.
