Fall in electricity prices: why we will have to play the competition card

The good news is confirmed. In accordance with the government’s promise, the regulated sales tariff (TRV) for electricity, the amount of which is set by the public authorities and marketed by EDF (the famous “blue tariff”), should fall by 14% during the next tariff movement, scheduled for February 1. A decrease linked above all to the spectacular fall in prices on the wholesale markets, observed in recent months.

After several years of sharp increases (nearly 45% in two years), prices are regaining some sense of reason. “This reduction in the regulated price corresponds to an upgrade,” analyzes Sylvain Le Falher, co-founder and general director of the Hello Watt comparator. It will finally be more representative of the current situation. »
