Quick visit to Giorgia Meloni at Mar-a-Lago, where the prime minister met US president-elect Donald Trump. About 5 hours after her arrival in Palm Beach, the prime minister got back on the flight that is taking her back to Rome.
On social media there are images of the meeting between the Prime Minister and the tycoon. The CBS journalist, Jennifer Jacobs, on her ‘X’ profile published a photo of the prime minister with Trump and Marco Rubio, the future secretary of state of the new administration
Also present at Mar-a-Lago, as Wall Street Journal journalist Alex Leary wrote in ‘X’ who published a photo, were also Scott Bessent, who was chosen by Trump as the future Treasury Secretary, Tilman Joseph Fertitta who President-elect has chosen Mariangela Zappia as the future US ambassador to Italy and the Italian ambassador to the US.
Leary also quoted Trump’s words to Meloni in a post on ‘X’: “He really took Europe by storm”. Leary also reported the words of Rubio who, in welcoming the prime minister, defined her as “an excellent ally, a strong leader”.
