He left Mandić without SP, now he announced: I apologize to the boy I grew up with. I regret it

Exactly 40 days have passed since he was a Serbian handball player Miloš Kos (22), after Zagreb’s defeat by Nantes in the handball Champions League on November 27, knocked out his teammate, the Croatian goalkeeper Mateja Mandía (22) in the dressing room of the Arena Zagreb, broke the bones in his face and left him without the World Championship, which is co-organized by Lijepa Naša.

A day after Zagreb got rid of the hot potato in the form of a promising but obviously problematic player by selling him to the penultimate Bundesliga club Erlangen, Miloš Kos addressed the public in a private message to the media, reports Blic. We transmit it in its entirety:

“Dear, I would like to inform the entire handball and sports community that in the new calendar year I will wear the jersey of the German Bundesliga team Erlangen. With several options I had to continue my career in the Bundesliga, the rest of Europe and Asia, I chose the one for I think it will be the best for my further development. Going to the best league in the world is a dream come true for every young handball player. It is also a satisfaction for the great work I invested in my career, but also the result of the dedication of all those people who helped me reach this level, starting with my native Dubica, Ljubuški, Zagreb and the Serbian national team extremely grateful.

I hope that the year 2025 will be better than the previous one. Behind me is a difficult period in which there was time to reconsider and regret the procedure I did. I use this opportunity to publicly apologize, first of all, to my friend and boyfriend with whom I grew up, both in Ljubuški and Zagreb, Matej Mandi. I wish him a speedy recovery, I hope that he will be ready to defend as soon as possible and that he will have the great career he deserves in the years ahead. I would also like to apologize to my former teammates, but also thank you for the support I received from the first day when I wore the RK Zagreb jersey. Thanks to the people from the club, all the coaches and fans for everything in the past two years. I felt Zagreb as my club, a place where I got the chance to play with the best and I can understand the indignation and anger after everything that happened in the locker room that day after the match with Nantes.

I made a big mistake. It is also a big life lesson that I obviously had to learn. I am 22 years old, I have seasons and seasons ahead of me in which I will try to remain remembered as a good athlete, but above all a human being.

Sincerely,
Miloš Kos”

Kos is still facing a prison sentence

Although Kos is no longer a Zagreb handball player, it is a month and a half since the suspension that Zvonimir Srna, who protected Mandića, had at one time and which was subsequently lifted, does not mean that this case is legally over.

Based on the media reports, the police launched an investigation and almost a month after the incident filed criminal charges against Kos for causing serious bodily injury. He faces a prison sentence of six months to five years.

– I broke three bones in the area of my face, I got three plates in my face, but I was lucky that a good doctor operated on me. My conscience is the same. I sleep peacefully, and surely Kos will bear the consequences and answer for his actions – said Mandi. for Net.hr.
