The largest technology exhibition in the world – CES is taking place this week in Las Vegas, when the Samsung company already had time to announce new technologies that will be integrated into its TVs. The highlight is of course AI, when similar to the company’s smartphones, which received the Galaxy AI capabilities last year, now the televisions receive Vision AI, when the services are more adapted to viewing on the big screen, than using a smartphone.
The Click to Search feature offers, at the click of a button, to find out who the actor appears in the series or to get details about content displayed on the screen. Somewhat similar to the solutions offered by Apple’s or Amazon’s streaming services, only here, it is apparently any type of content that appears on the screen.
Another ability that is expected to wink at people is translation. The content we want to watch is not always translated and Samsung TVs knew how to do it using a feature called Live Translate (live translation) which is based on a built-in AI translation model. There was no reference in Samsung’s announcement regarding the supported languages, but at least according to the real-time translation capabilities that exist in its smartphones, it does not seem that Hebrew is currently supported, but there is a chance you can get a translation from other languages to English.
Another new feature is Generative Wallpaper that allows users to create their own images and display them on the big screen.
Samsung Vision AI – follow the dog
Samsung also integrates Vision AI together with its smart home control system – SmartThings. A feature called Home Insights offers real-time updates about the home environment, including safety alerts and daily updates. The Pet and Family Care feature allows you to identify unusual behavior among pets and family members. It improves comfort because it automatically changes room settings, for example dimming lights when the children fall asleep, while at the same time showing real-time updates and recorded events through the TV screens.
