Circus Flic Flac: Breakdown on the Wheel of Death! Presentation canceled

Nuremberg – Before the second number, the show “EXXTREM!” at the Flic Flac circus was over: on Sunday, more than 1,000 spectators had to leave the tent after 10 minutes.

Michael Busch (53, editor) and his family were prepared for the idea of Flic Flac pleased. At 6:30 p.m. the family went to the ring at the Volksfestplatz in Nuremberg (Bayern).

Flic Flac started the show at 7:30 p.m

An hour later the program started. “Sara Nagyhegyi hurled weightlessly with her hair attached to a rope, which is so acrobatically possible between the dome and the ground. Pure adrenaline,” says Michael Busch.

The second item on the program also promised that Todesrad. But as helpers were putting up the metal structure, the scaffolding suddenly collapsed. Michael Busch: “There was a blow during construction. The chains that held heavy headlights dropped a good meter, as did the wheel of death. The helpers jumped to the side. Their faces showed that something was wrong.”

Some spectators whistled

The music stopped. A voice over the loudspeaker asked the guests to leave the tent quickly and in an orderly manner. Michael Busch: “Some people assumed that everything was part of the show. Some clapped, a few whistled to make their displeasure heard. A stream of melted snow poured down the corridor from above. “Obviously the tent was more affected than was initially apparent.”

People gathered in the awning, shortly afterwards another message came that the event had to be canceled. Flic Flac expressed himself on the Internet: “Dear guests, on January 5th. There was a technical defect in the evening performance of our X-Mas show. This means that our artists are no longer able to perform their performances safely and reliably. All on January 6th Unfortunately, all shows taking place have to be canceled. Of course, all ticket buyers will receive their money back.”

Crash in the death ball

This wasn’t the first incident at the legendary circus. Back in 2013, nine motorcycles circled through the so-called during training in Cologne Death bullet. There was a crash! One acrobat was critically injured and another was seriously injured.

Nine years later, two artists fell from the “Wheel of Death” during the performance in Dortmund (NRW). In the same year, a circus employee probably had a carbine slip out of his hand. It hit a spectator in the head area and seriously injured him.
