Elon Musk thinks about football, a club in Mr X’s sights

Elon Musk dreams of Liverpool. At least that’s what the tycoon’s father says. “Does Elon want Liverpool? I won’t comment, they would raise the price. What if he wants to buy him? Oh yes, but that doesn’t mean he will. He would like it, of course, anyone would like it, even me. His grandmother was born in Liverpool, there we have still relatives,” Errol Musk tells Times Radio, confirming his son’s interest in the English club which has been owned by the Fenway Sports Group since 2010. Musk, as is known, leaves his mark in various sectors: from social X to Tesla to Space X, without considering his leading role in the administration of the new American president Donald Trump.

FSG has sought outside investment in the past but has never considered selling ownership. Last May Forbes ranked Liverpool as the fourth most valuable club, with an estimated value of £4.3 billion. The figure represents just over 1% of Elon Musk’s total net worth, which is thought to be around £343 billion.

Elon’s grandmother was born in Liverpool and we have relatives in Liverpoolwe were lucky to know quite a lot about the Beatles because they grew up with some members of my family,” added Musk’s father. “So, we are linked to Liverpool.” FSG has been criticized by some of the fans for the lack of investment on the team Last year the club made a pre-tax loss of £9 million.
