Construction of rapid entry to Ben Gurion Airport from Highway 1 approved

The government has approved a budget for the construction of a new interchange on the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway (Highway 1) and a new entrance to Ben Gurion Airport.

Currently, those traveling to the airport from Tel Aviv are forced to bypass the airport to get to the entrance, and then return back to the terminals, traveling an extra 10 kilometers.

The new interchange will significantly shorten the path from the highway to the terminals, and will lead to decongestion of the highway in the area between Kfar Chabad and the airport.

The tender for the construction of the interchange will be published soon, and construction of the interchange should be completed before 2030.
