Elbit beats Lockheed Martin and Rheinmetall in the fight to supply Germany with artillery systems

The Bundestag approved the purchase of a trial batch of PULS multiple launch rocket artillery systems produced by the Israeli defense concern Elbit Maarahot for the German armed forces.

The initial transaction amount is $65 million. In the fight for the contract, Elbit bypassed the offer of the American Lockheed Martin and the German Rheinmetall, which offered Germany to purchase the GMARS system.

The choice was influenced, among other things, by the fact that Germany’s neighbors, the Netherlands and Denmark, also purchased Israeli PULS systems, which will make it easier for the Bundeswehr to cooperate.

Also this week, Elbit received two contracts from the Israeli Ministry of Defense totaling one billion shekels. One contract provides for the purchase of heavy aerial bombs, the second – the construction of a plant for the production of materials for defense needs, which before the war were mainly purchased abroad.
