Banned from baseball fields for life for knocking the ball out of Mookie Betts’ glove

They won’t be able to never attend baseball games again in their lives: it is the measure adopted by Major League Baseball towards two New York Yankees fans that they had in October ripped the ball from the glove of Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers during the World Series. The two had initially been expelled from the stadium: one of them, while the right fielder of the Dodgers jumped on the wall to catch the pitch of Gleyber Torres of the Yankees, had grabbed Betts’ glove with both hands and snatched the ball from him.

Another near him, however, had grabbed the Dodgers player’s ungloved hand, thus disturbing the play. MLB sent a letter to the two fans to complain that their behavior at Yankee Stadium “went far beyond acceptable behavior” to the point of request a lifetime ban and to warn them that, “if in the future they are caught in any MLB stadium or game, they will be removed from it and arrested for violating the ban“.

The game was won 11-4 by the Yankees and the two were then prevented from waiting for the next evening’s game in which the Dodgers had won the 7-6 point that gave them the World Series.
