The special edition of Mickey Mouse in 4 dialects

Mickey Mouse becomes polyglot. On the occasion of the “National Day of Dialect and Local Languages”, which occurs every 17 January, the famous comic celebrates the linguistic richness of our country and enters history with a unique and never before carried out initiative. In addition to the Italian version, number 3608 will be available in Sicily, Tuscany, Lombardy and Campania with the story Uncle Scrooge and the PdP 6000, written by Niccolò Testi for the drawings of Alessandro Perina, translated respectively into Catanese, Florentine, Milanese and Neapolitan .

The copies with the story in dialect will be distributed only on newsstands in the regional area of ​​linguistic competence, while the Italian version will be distributed in the other regions. However, it will be possible to find all versions in comic shops, on Panini.it, and through your newsagent on Primaedicola.it (while stocks last).

To translate Uncle Scrooge and the PdP 6000 into Catanese, Florentine, Milanese and Neapolitan, Panini availed itself of the collaboration of Riccardo Regis – Full Professor of Italian Linguistics at the University of Turin, expert in Italian dialectology – who coordinated a team of linguists. “A very interesting initiative, also because it is the first time that I have carried out dissemination activities addressing an audience also made up of children. And Mickey Mouse has always been in my heart: and in unsuspecting times I had also delved into the Disney onomastics, highlighting the mechanisms that underlie it” comments the Professor.
