The release date of the PlayStation 6 confirmed: how much useful life does the PS5 have left?

A few days ago, the vice president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Hideaki Nishino, reported that the launch of the game will take place between 2027 and 2028. PlayStation 6which will begin the new generation of consoles of this type.

Although the PS5 still has many years of useful life left, Nishino assured that this will not prevent the launch of the new consoles.

The average console launch is approximately eight yearswhich would show that Sony is meeting these deadlines if the PS6 is released within two or three years.

“The next PlayStation console will not suffer delays and will follow the usual schedule,” said Nishino.

Although not many details of the console have been revealed nor its exact release date, they did assure that it will have significant innovations.

According to Mark Cerny, Sony console architect, the company would be collaborating with AMD on a project called ‘Amethyst’, which would bring improvements in graphics performance to the PS6 by the implementation of advanced techniques such as ray tracing and machine learning.

The PlayStation 5 still has years of operation

The PS5 is still in force and even more so with the launch of the PS5 Pro, so those who have it can enjoy several years of use in this generation of consoles, before the arrival of the PS6.

Regarding competition in the video game market, Sony takes the lead, since In June of this year, the PS5 already accumulated 61.7 million consoles soldcompared to its competition XBox with 28.3, plus Sony continues to have traditional consoles, despite the fact that there are currently many games for PC.

Regarding the price at which the PS6 could be sold at the time, it could initially cost 500 euros, that is, in Colombia it would be $2,300,000, however, there is still a long time before it reaches the market.
