Two NASA astronauts performed repairs on the ISS during a spacewalk

During the six-hour mission, astronauts Suni Williams and Nick Hague replaced defective light filters and reflectors, NASA announced.

It was Hague’s fourth spacewalk and Williams’ eighth. Another spacewalk is scheduled for next week.

Williams (59) has been on the ISS since June. She was originally supposed to be on the station for only a week, but her stay was extended after technical problems with the Starliner spacecraft, in which she was traveling with fellow astronaut Barry Wilmore.

NASA now plans to return Williams and Wilmore to Earth in the spring aboard the Crew Dragon spacecraft.
