It is also unclear whether the deal will result in a full withdrawal of Israeli troops from the enclave, a central demand of Hamas to free the rest of the hostages.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he is “confident” that the pact will be implemented, as planned, starting on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Egypt, which intervenes as a mediator in the conflict along with the United States and Qatar, demanded that the agreement be implemented “without delay.”

Finally, Qatari Prime Minister Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al Thani indicated that a monitoring mechanism managed by Egypt, Qatar and the United States will be installed in Cairo to ensure compliance with the agreement.
