Swedish research: having a foreign background increases the risk of committing a rape crime

in Sweden residents with foreign backgrounds are more likely to commit a rape crime than the native population, estimates a new study.

Lund University research analyzes rape crimes in Sweden from 2000 to 2020. The study compared 4,032 people convicted of rape to a control group of about 20,000 people. Only crimes against women over the age of 18 were selected for the study.
