The Ministry of Science and Technology wants to build a joint research project with the Czech Republic

The proposal was raised by Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat at a meeting with Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Innovation of the Czech Republic Jana Havlíková, on January 20 in the capital Prague. Minister Dat is accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on his official visit to the Czech Republic from January 18 – January 20.

At the meeting, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat said that Vietnam – Czech Republic have had many successes in cooperation on applied research, experimental development and technology transfer and innovation in Vietnam. Since 2014, through the Delta program, the Ministry and the Czech Technology Development Agency (TACR) have supported 5 joint research projects in the fields of nanotechnology and advanced materials; biotechnology and medicine; technology in agriculture and fisheries; information and communication technology.

By 2019, the two sides will continue to promote relations and cooperation in technology application and innovation in the fields of standards, quality measurement, and trade support between the Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (under the Department of Standards, Metrology and Testing). Minister Dat expected science, technology and innovation to be a promising field of cooperation between the two countries and wished to further promote it. After a meeting at noon on January 20, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala agreed to upgrade the two countries’ relationship to a Strategic Partnership.
