TikTok resumed its activity in the United States this Sunday, after the president-elect, Donald Trump, announced that he will decree a moratorium on the law against the parent company, which has not prevented other ByteDance applications, such as Marvel Snap and Lemon8 , will stop operating in the country.
TikTok is ByteDance’s most popular application, but it is not the only one that this Chinese company has in its catalog. One of them is Lemon8, a social network developed by Heliophilia that ByteDance launched in 2020 more focused on publishing photographs and discovering new trends, similar to Instagram.
Lemon8 has a presence mainly in Asia; It was first launched in Japan and, in the last four years, it has spread to other markets in the region, and also to the United States, where ByteDance has tried to promote it among influencers with the aim of facing bans on its most popular social network.
However, Lemon8 has also been affected by the TikTok blackout and, unlike her older sister, has not returned to activity yet. Neither has the video editing application CapCut, as reported in Engadget.
The Marvel Snap video game also belongs to ByteDance. It is developed by Second Dinner, a studio that has already confirmed that they are working to make this title “available again in the United States”, since it works normally in the rest of the world; and even hopes it will be online “within the next 24 hours”, as shared on the social network X.
We’ve been working around the clock to bring MARVEL SNAP back up in the U.S. and hope to have it back online within 24 hours. We’ll update you once it’s back up.
In the meantime, global players should be able to continue to play with no issues.

Applications linked to ByteDance have also been removed from the official Apple and Google stores in the United States. Specifically, the Cupertino firm cites the following as those affected: TikTok, TikTok Studio, TikTok Shop Seller Center, CapCut, Lemon8, Hypic, Lark – Team Collaboration, Lark – Rooms Display, Lark Rooms Controller, Gauth: AI Study Companion and Marvel Snap.
These applications can no longer be downloaded or updated through the App Store and Play Store, although users who already had them installed on their devices will not lose them, although their use is subject to their availability in the North American country.
