The lawyers of the former officials of Artsakh petitioned in Baku to change the preventive measure to house arrest

During the trial of the former Artsakh officials in Baku, the lawyers submitted a motion to replace the restraining order of their clients with house arrest.

According to the same sources, the court will issue a decision on the restraining order on January 27. The trial of Ruben Vardanyan, former Minister of State of Artsakh, is also on that day.

The case of Ruben Vardanyan was separated.The court session in the case of former Artsakh officials started on January 17.

23 Armenians are still being held in Azerbaijani prisons, including 16 people captured by Azerbaijan as a result of the military attack on Artsakh on September 19, 2023. Among those arrested are 8 officials from Artsakh: former presidents Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, National Assembly Speaker Davit Ishkhanyan, former Minister of State Ruben Vardanyan, former Commander of the Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan, former Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces Davit Manukyan and former Foreign Minister Davit Babayan.
