Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets the President of Ukraine

At the meeting on the evening of January 21 on the sidelines of the 55th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Conference in Davos, Switzerland, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky his balanced stance, Vietnam’s objectivity and consistency in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The Prime Minister emphasized that all disputes need to be resolved by peaceful means, in accordance with the basic principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Vietnam supports the mediation efforts of the international community to seek a lasting peaceful solution to the conflict, with the participation of all relevant parties, in accordance with international law and the Charter. UN. Vietnam is ready to participate in the efforts of the international community to promote dialogue and seek peaceful solutions to soon end the current conflict.

He asked Ukraine to continue to support ensuring the safety of life and property, and creating conditions for Vietnamese citizens living and working in the country.

The two leaders affirmed that they value the traditional friendly cooperation, comprehensive partnership and cooperation between Vietnam and Ukraine, wish to maintain and promote bilateral cooperation, and seek measures to maintain growth momentum. and soon restore trade exchanges between the two countries, resuming activities of the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the same day met with Panamanian President Jose Raul Mulino Quintero. The two leaders agreed to strengthen trade and investment cooperation, expanding cooperation into new fields such as infrastructure, electric cars, pharmaceuticals, tourism development, and people-to-people exchanges.

Vietnam is ready to share experience and support Panama in food production, especially rice cultivation, creating favorable conditions for this country’s businesses to do business and invest in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also met Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Palucka at the event. Mr. Palucka wishes to strengthen economic, trade and energy cooperation with Vietnam, proposing to expand cooperation to potential fields, including renewable energy and LNG.

The Prime Minister of Lithuania affirmed his readiness to share and accompany Vietnam in the process of energy transition and building energy infrastructure.

The Prime Minister attended the 55th WEF with the theme “Collaboration for the Smart Era” in Davos on January 21-22 at the invitation of WEF founder and President Klaus Schwab. He will chair and participate in dozens of activities at the conference.

WEF is one of the prestigious global forums, attracting the attention and participation of most leaders of countries, international organizations as well as the world’s leading corporations and companies. Vietnam and WEF have had relations since 1989.
