A third of Italians exhaust their financial resources by the 21st of the month

The month of January confirms itself as the most difficult for Italians’ pockets. But not only that, according to recent research conducted by HONOR on 18 European countries, almost a third of Italians (31%) struggle to make ends meet. A worrying figure but clearly better than many other European countries: Italy, in fact, ranks second among the most “virtuous” nations, immediately after the United Kingdom (17% have problems by the 21st day of the month ) but better than Germany (5th place, 38%) and France (7th place, 39%). The countries with the most critical data are Romania (62%) and Bulgaria (57%). It is above all young people who pay the price, with almost half of those under 25 declaring they have economic difficulties. Faced with these difficulties, young Italians turn to their parents for advice. HONOR, in collaboration with over 6,000 European pensioners and grandparents, has collected a series of valuable suggestions for better managing your budget.

Young people say they trust older generations because of their greater experience: HONOR wanted to collect budgeting advice from over 6,000 European pensioners and grandparents, in conjunction with the launch of the HONOR Magic7 Lite, a smartphone for those who are attentive to finances, at any age.

Here are the main tips

Save when you have money: Just because you have money doesn’t mean you have to spend it.

Focus on the goal: Saving for something you really want is always a good idea.

Read the details: Always check your bank statements, even though it may seem tedious.

Expensive is not always synonymous with better: compare prices before buying and don’t assume that expensive is synonymous with quality.

Be patient: Don’t pay for next day delivery unless you absolutely have to.

Lucas Man Tang, Country Manager of HONOR Italy added: “Our research has shown that January is a really challenging month for budgets and that young people are hoping to spend less on technology. We are therefore pleased to launch a smartphone like the HONOR Magic7 Lite on the market, part of the Magic 7 series, which demonstrates that high performance does not have to cost a fortune.”
