Discovery of the largest Iraqi oil field with two billion barrels

Baghdad: Zidan Al-Rubaie, the Iraqi Central Oil Company, in cooperation with the Chinese company (EBS), announced the achievement of a major oil discovery in the southern East Baghdad field, in implementation of the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and the Iraqi Oil Minister, Hayyan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, to intensify exploration efforts and develop the fields. Oil, in implementation of the contents of the government program aimed at enhancing the productive capabilities of the oil sector. The company’s general manager, Engineer Muhammad Yassin Hassan, said in a statement, “The testing operations of the main exploratory well in the East Baghdad field have achieved great success, as a high-yield oil flow of medium and light oil was obtained.” He expected that “it will add more than two billion.”
