Trump wants to banish “transgender ideology” in the army

Since January 25, 2021, transgender people were authorized to serve and openly enlist in the American army. This decision followed many hesitations leading the Ministry of Defense to prohibit, with a few exceptions, transgender people to serve in the American army in their assertive genre.

“Preventing indoctrination” of American soldiers

During his first mandate, Trump had already wanted this frank ban, before being dismissed by the Supreme Court, and during the presidential campaign, the republican candidate had promised to restrict the rights of transgender persons in the United States, notably warning that He would end “from the first day” and a “simple feather” to what he had described as “transgender delirium”.

According to the Williams Institute of the University of California, around 1.6 million people over 13, including 300,000 adolescents, identify as transgender in the United States. This does not mean that they have all started transitional therapies. Faced with elected officials from his party, President Trump also assured that he was going to “prevent the indoctrination” of the American soldiers “by far left ideologies as the critical theory of the race”.
