Sinner renounces Rotterdam: "I need rest"

Jannik Sinner after granting the encore to the Australian Open has decided that he will renounce the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam in Holland which will begin on February 3 and, therefore, will not be able to defend the title won last year. Sinner himself, number 1 to the world of tennis, announces the announcement before leaving Australia. “My body needs some time to recover from the long journey to Australia,” said the 23 -year -old Italian tennis player originally from Sesto Pusteria in South Tyrol.

In the meantime, the German Alexander Zverev, defeated by Sinner in the final in Melbourne, posted a photo from the plane before taking the time of Europe: “At least this time I am in front of him”, wrote the tennis player showing that he sits one row in front of Sinner.

“We decided to consult it with the team, I have fantastic memories of last year’s title where the fans were really fantastic, I hope to be able to play soon again and I wish the organizers the utmost success,” added Sinner. The blue, number one in world tennis, should return to play in a tournament from 17 to 22 February in Doha in the ‘Qatar Exxonmobil Open 2025’ (ATP 500, cement), then to Indian Wells from 3 to 10 March (ATP Master 1000, cement).
