“Georgian Dream” stops working in the PACE

Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream party suspends work at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said the head of the Georgian delegation to Tea Tsulukian. He said that the conditions and reservations of the adopted resolution on Georgia are “unacceptable, unfair and unfounded.”

According to Tsulukani, the PACE demand to appoint new elections “violates Georgia’s sovereignty” and ignores the will of the voters, Novosti Georgia reports.

At the same time, he noted that Georgia remains a member of the Council of Europe, and its work in the PACE will resume, “when the unfair treatment is changed, and blackmail will be terminated.”

It should be reminded that on January 29, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe approved a resolution, which calls on the Georgian authorities to release all political prisoners, to appoint a new parliamentary election until April and reconsider controversial laws.
