FC Barcelona tied (2-2) against Atalanta on Wednesday on the last day of the Champions League phase and advanced to the round of 16 as second classified, after a demanding meeting where he touched the victory and first position of the Table before the unexpected defeat of a Liverpool who stood his head.
The new format of the maximum continental competition gave a night of heart attack and goals, with the 18 games at the same time in the midst of much need and drama. It was not so much in the Olimpic Lluís Companys, but those of Hansi Flick also felt that pressure due to the danger of even fifth position in case of defeat.
Lamine Yamal’s great game, which opened the can and left many quality actions again, stood out in a Barça that was lacking in the first half. After the break, the early goal of the young striker uncovered a shot and Daca that the Italian team matched twice, needed to win to be in the ‘Top 8’.
The Flick assured at least the point not to give up second place, although they failed the leadership they were shot with the defeat of Liverpool against the PSV, and the Catalan cross of the round of 16 will be between PSG, Benfica, Monaco and Brest. Those of Gian Piero Gasperini, ninth, stayed at the gates of that direct ticket and will have to pass another round of sixteen.
The Azlugrana team took out its European version and knew how to suffer from an always uncomfortable watchtower. The brave proposal of the Italians, very in a rival field and above each opponent, made Barça back. The culé team looked for Lamine Yamal as unblocking, but barely generated danger in 45 minutes.
The magic of the Spanish international gave respite to the premises in the absence of movement above, but the passing pass made the Italian pressure. A shot diverted by Lola de Lamine was the only occasion of those of Flick, while Szczesny, reaffirmed in the goal, had to save a goal in Balde’s own.
After half an hour, the Gasperini’s memory game came to sing goal, but the goal of Davide Zappacosta was canceled offside from the VAR. Shortly after, Barça took an even greater scare, with a possible gavi injury in the knee that remained nothing, but from the break he returned with good news.
Two minutes after the resumption, Lamine culminated the perfect against Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha. However, forced to win to avoid that extra crossing, the Atalanta did not take time to rearm her game towards the rival goal and, despite having to suffer with a great occasion of Lewandowski to sentence, she found the shoe of Ederson after the meeting time (1-1).
The tension then visited Barça, since the defeat made him lower several positions in the dance of the night, but Ronald Araújo appeared to head 2-1. The changes of both teams were offensive and, in a great de Raon pass, Pasalic signed the 2-2 that did not move, despite the fact that the Italians ended up with one less because of the Scalvini injury.
