American space aircraft ready for the first flight

Sierra Space announced that their Dream Chaser space model has proved the ability to transport goods. The means combining many old and new features have overcome an important milestone to be ready for the first task of trajectory, New Atlas January 30 reported.

The tasks of transporting goods to the International Space Station (ISS) takes place regularly, although the laboratory revolves around the trajectory, which has entered the final 5 -year operation. The long -term goal of Sierra Space is to let Dream Chaser land on a commercial runway at an international airport.

Initially, Dream Chaser competed a contract to carry astronaut between the Earth and the ISS station but failed to SpaceX and Boeing. The current managing company Sierra Space has transformed it into a drone called the Dream Chaser (DCCS) cargo system. Instead of the passenger compartment, this space aircraft includes a cargo module that can be expanded with photoelectric batteries. The vehicle is capable of bringing 5,000 kg of pressure goods and 500 kg of goods that have not been applied to the trajectory, then bringing 1,750 kg of goods back to Earth with a maximum return force of 1.5 g.

The recent test in Louisville, Colorado shows that Dream Chaser can carry goods in specialized conditions, including electricity supply, cooling and data processing between the block and the Earth.
