According to DFB, women’s football continues on the rise

The women’s football Bundesliga is still on an expansion course. “This is an additional investment if the cake has to be shared by more clubs. But it was also a clear statement of the clubs, we want this because it is seen as added value in medium -term development, ”said Manuel Hartmann, Managing Director of the game in DFB GmbH & Co. KG.

According to the report, the twelve Bundesliga clubs collected more than 31 million euros through increased yields from advertising and sponsorship as well as additional income from the Champions League – more than ever. The average income doubled within three seasons to 2.65 million euros per league member.

Women’s football want to see more and more

Women’s football is also becoming increasingly popular with fans. A total of 379,653 spectators came to the stadiums on the 22 game days of the first division. The previous record was 359,404 fans in the previous season. On average, 2,876 visitors came per game, so the average player yields per club also rose to the record of 370,000 euros.

The number of spectators on free TV also went up. The 31 freely received games watched an average of 390,000 spectators (pre -season 240,000), an increase of 62 percent. The top range was again achieved in the top game between VfL Wolfsburg and FC Bayern Munich on the 17th matchday with 2.04 million viewers in the ARD.
