Osaka completely forbade smoking in open space

From January 27, 2025, smoking in open space in the territory of the Japanese city of Osaka will be prohibited. The penalty for violation will be 1000 Japanese yen (about 6.4 dollars).

For smokers in the city, more than 140 smoking rooms will operate, and in the future their number will be brought to 300.

Recall that from January 1, a ban on smoking in public places, including on the streets, entered into force. The exception is “isolated places in which a ten -meter distance from others is provided.” The penalty for violation is 40-240 euros.
