89% of managers say that AI without processes intelligence does not achieve the expected results

Most business leaders believe that artificial intelligence (AI) needs process intelligence to achieve the results that are expected to be obtained with the implementation of this technology.

Celonis has shared on Wednesday the results of the ‘Process Optimization Report 2025’, a survey of 1,620 business leaders of organizations with revenues exceeding 500 million dollars from ten countries, including Spain, which includes recognition that AI requires AI of process intelligence to be effective and relevant to companies.

Specifically, 89 percent of managers consider that it is crucial for AI to have the context of how their business works if it will offer significant results and increase operational efficiency. The majority (58%) are concerned that the deficiencies in their processes can hinder the effectiveness of AI.

Expectations with artificial intelligence are high for next year. Almost all companies are deploying AI, and only one percent of the managers surveyed affirms that they are not doing it. 74 percent also recognize that their budgets for AI are increasing.

81 percent of companies plan to use AI specifically to improve business processes in the next twelve months, and 64 percent believe that this technology will provide a significant investment return (ROI).

The report also indicates that 61 percent of companies claim that applications of AI such as ‘chatbots’ and generative assistants are already being deployed to improve operational efficiency.
