The Loiret forced to sell the Orleans minimal convent: “We would have preferred to launch a call for projects”

This sale, which is added to those of the former premises of the National Institute of Superior Teaching and Education (for 3.3 million euros) and land (a ZAC north of Orleans and 15 ha at South of the Loire for 6 million euros), is an opportunity to alert the State to the degradation of finance of local authorities: “It is obvious that if we were not in this situation, I would not have No opinion to separate from such a good in the heart of the city of Orleans. Investments in a standstill

The President of the Departmental Council is waiting to garner more than ten million euros this year thanks to these sales. Exceptional revenues that will be allocated to financing current operations such as the jargeau diversion (for nearly 110 million euros), the renovation of a rescue center in Orleans or the construction of a building equivalent to Châteauneuf- On-Loire (Loiret).

To date, all of future investment projects have stalled in the department. “We look at whether to shift them or simply cancel them. I asked each committee president to examine all possible savings avenues, ”he warns. The budgetary orientation report (ROB), presented to elected officials on January 31, gives indications on future arbitrations, which will be adopted at the end of March on the occasion of the voting of the 2025 budget, probably “below 826 million euros of 2024 ”.
