Trump’s administration insists on the withdrawal of the IDF from Southern Lebanon by February 18

Morgan Ortagus said deputy special envoy of the United States in the Middle East that the Trump administration insisted on the full withdrawal of the forces of the IDF from South Livan by February 18. “We firmly adhere to this date,” she said.

On Friday, February 7, Ortagus met with President Livan Joseph Aun in his residence in the Baabda Palace in Beirut. At the end of the negotiations, the parties gave a joint press conference.

Morgan Ortagus emphasized: “Hizballa” should remain defeated, disarmed, and her representation in the government of Lebanon is excluded. She stated that “she had never seen such an enthusiasm among the Lebanese diaspora in the United States relative to the future Lebanon,” adding that this is largely due to a significant weakening of Hizballa.
