30 million euros for stadium AG of the 1st FC Union Berlin

“We are a very important piece closer to our goal of securing the stadium at the old forestry for the next generations,” Union President Dirk Zingler is quoted in a message. “The stadium AG goes into the future, thanks to a very robust balance sheet and equity structure.”

From November 26 to February 5, more than 49,000 new shares were drawn by the members, sponsors and partners. The 1. FC Union Berlin EV alone used its subscription right for 40,000 shares. 900 existing shareholders drew another 1,500 shares. There are also around 7,900 securities for 5,900 well -being.

Together with the previously passed parts, around 61,850 shares drawn in circulation will be in circulation after the capital increase has been completed. The 1. FC Union Berlin EV will hold 75.75 percent of the shares in the future. The free float, consisting of existing and well-being, now comprises 24.25 percent.

Union wants to almost double the stadium’s capacity by the end of 2027 and expand the arena to around 40,000 places. Investments of around 100 million euros are to be made. The site should become a sports, cultural and music center in southeastern Berlin. Among other things, plays, concerts or cinema evenings will take place on a large stage in front of the stadium.
