Employees of subcontractor Audi collect at Embassy United Arab Emiraten (inland)

The Brussels factory of Audi, where around 3,000 people work, will close its doors at the end of this month. But the closure also has consequences for the subcontractors of the factory, including DP World through its Imperial Logistics branch. According to trade unionist Grégory Dascotte (FGTB), 280 people lose their jobs there.

The social plan that was negotiated between trade unions and management for the employees of Audi Brussels does not apply to the staff of the subcontractors. According to Dascotte, Imperial Logistics would offer a premium of 300 euros per year seniority, which he calls “ridiculously low”. The premium system at Audi is different, “but if we make a global average, then the employees of Audi Brussels will receive on average 4,800 euros per year seniority,” said the trade unionist.
