Durs Grünbein reads Brecht’s notes

The writer Durs Grünbein has a heavy bag with him when he comes to the Brecht Forum on Chausseestrasse. His publisher, Suhrkamp, ​​has been sending him the “notebooks” Bertolt Brechts, who have been released there since 2010, in a large format, in a brochure. He places several volumes on the podium in which there are many adhesive slips. Later in the evening he will get his own notebooks out of his pocket, a black in small format, plus large -format cladds. From 1918 to almost his death, Brecht used notebooks, as a recording medium, as a field of experimentation, as an open spaces of the lettering with a diverse, with poetry, but also with all sorts. The Suhrkamp edition, which is developed in the Brecht Archive of the Berlin Academy of the Arts, has an electronic foundation in which the comments on the colored facsimiles and transcriptions are expanded, updated, enriched with additional material from the archive. Grünbein is the ideal reader of the printed version, a leafer that is painted, excerpt, into his own notebooks.
