Adriano Emperor’s head in a wax sculpture, the work of thousands of bees

The famous bronze head of the emperor Adriano reproduced by thousands of them, inspired by the technique of lost wax merger. It is a work of great artistic and symbolic impact that will be exhibited in Rome from 14 February to 14 September 2025 at the cloister of the Bramante, as part of the exhibition “Flowers. The flowers in art, from the Renaissance to the virtual”.

The work is titled “Crafted by Bees”, and is a unique project by the Slovak artist and designer Tomáš Gabzdil Libertíny, in collaboration with the curators of the Israel Museum Rami Tareef and Dudi Mevorah.

This innovative encounter between classical art, nature and technology not only pays homage to history, but also promotes an ecological message, reflecting on the relationship between man and the environment.
