Five people in the US charged with murder of Trans Man after weeks of torture: “One of the most horrible crimes I have ever investigated”

In the US state of New York, five people have been charged for the murder of a trans man after having tortured him for weeks. The police announced this on Sunday.

The body of 24-year-old Sam Nordquist, originally from the state of Minnesota, was found on Thursday in a field near the city of Canandaigua, about 400 kilometers northwest of New York City, according to the local authorities.

Nordquist has been “long -term physically and physiologically abused by several people since December,” said Captain Kelly Swift of the police of the police of the state of New York on Friday. “Our research has revealed a very disturbing pattern of abuse that eventually resulted in the tragic death of Sam.”

The five suspects, between 19 and 38, are accused of torturing and killing Nordquist, and then moving his body to try to hide the crimes. “In my twenty -year career as a law enforcement, this is one of the most horrible crimes I have ever investigated,” said Swift.

Local media reported on Sunday that the prosecutors and the State Police do not yet regard the facts as a hate crime. “His attackers knew each other, identified as LGBTQ+, and at least one of the suspects lived with Sam in the period before the crime,” the local public prosecutor said in a press release.
