Chinese computing center is strong with 30,000 game computers

The newly installed underwater data compartment is installed on the seabed and connects to a previously built underwater data center, becoming a powerful computing center. Data compartment is 18 m long, with a diameter of 3.6 m, containing more than 400 high -performance servers. It connects to customer data terminals through a nearby coastal station.

The calculation power of the new center is equivalent to 30,000 high -end gaming computers operating at the same time, can complete the 1 -year calculation volume of the regular computer in just 1 second. This ability will support AI assistants equipped with Deepseek, which can handle up to 7,000 smart conversations per second.

Smart computing centers are designed to support AI applications by providing computing services, data and algorithms based on AI architectures. They play an important role in the research, training and application of AI, according to Wang Peng, researcher at the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences.

Wang added that the new center in Hainan will significantly enhance China’s competitive advantage in the global AI field. The center uses seawater as a natural coolant, which helps optimize energy efficiency, soil saving, soft drinks and electricity. The facility also has higher levels of security and stability thanks to the deep environment in the deep sea.

As of February 18, the Center signed an agreement with nearly 10 companies. These companies are expected to use the center’s ability to train AI model, industrial simulation, game development and marine scientific research.

Many Chinese cities are quickly developing their own smart computing centers to meet the increasing demand for digital transformation and industrial automation. Data from the International Data Group (IDC) shows that, in the period of 2022 – 2024, there are 219 such central projects created, spreading over 81 cities in 28 provinces. IDC predicts that in the period 2022 – 2027, China’s smart computer capacity will grow at a speed of up to 33.9%.
