Fable’s return to Xbox was postponed to 2026

Xbox Game Studios and the Playground Games and Eidos Montreal developers postponed the launch of Fable from expected 2025 to 2026. The decision was communicated by Craig Duncan, head of Xbox Game Studios, during the last official Xbox Podcast. Duncan has expressed confidence in development progress, underlining the intention of granting the additional time project to guarantee a high quality final product. He then highlighted the proven experience of Playground Games, citing the success of the Forza Horizon series, and expressed high expectations for their interpretation of Fable. He referred to visual quality, gameplay and British humor, distinctive elements of the study, which will characterize their version of Albion.
