Two employees of the National Center for Scientific Research on France admitted that they threw bottles with incendiary mixture into the court of the Consulate General of Russia in Marseille on February 24. This was reported by the France 24 television channel. There were no victims during the incident.

One of the detainees is an engineer, the second chemist, one in forty, the second in fifty. They were detained during the anti -Russian manifestation, dedicated to the third anniversary of the full -scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The attackers said that they filled three plastic bottles with a mixture of chemicals that could cause an explosion, and abandoned them into the territory of the diplomatic mission. They explained their actions by the desire to demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine.

Russia qualified the incident as a terrorist attack. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation initiated an attack on an institution using international protection. The Russian Embassy in Paris reported that on the eve of February 24, the French authorities called for the strengthening of diplomatic mission.
