Suspicious death of Hackman and wife is examined

Arakawa was discovered on the bottom of a bathroom, there was a room heating device and a container with tablets near them. Hackman was in an entrance area, next to him sunglasses.

The two were found dead in their property in Santa Fe in the US state of New Mexico on Wednesday-in different rooms. A dog was also discovered lifeless, while two other dogs survived. According to reports, death had already occurred some time ago.

Waiting for autopsy

The investigation began after the authorities had been alerted because there was concern about the couple’s well -being. Officials then arrived at the house and found the corpses. Before entering the house, it was ensured that there was no acute danger from gases in the air. The New Mexico Gas Company, which provided the property, supports the investigation.

“With great grief we announce the death of our father Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy,” said the daughters and a granddaughter of Hackmans. “He was loved and admired by millions of people around the world for his brilliant acting career, but for us he was only dad and grandpa. We will miss him painfully and are destroyed by the loss. ”

Oscar winner and Hollywood legend

Gene Hackman was one of the most important actors in his generation. The two-time Oscar winner had become famous, among other things, by films such as “French Connection” (1971), “The Conversation” (1974) and “Merciless” (1992). In the early 2000s he retired from Hollywood and lived with Arakawa in Santa Fe.
