Oscars: Isabella Rossellini can write Hollywood story

So far, mother and later daughter have won an Oscar. But now it could be so far: Isabella Rossellini, the daughter of Ingrid Bergman, has been nominated for her role in “explaits”.

Isabella Rossellini’s first world success was her role in David Lynch’s “Blue Velvet”. As she as a night club singer Dorothy Vallens in the black top dress, she breathed the title -giving song into the microphone, had a few part in the fact that this film became a classic very quickly from 1986. Nevertheless, she is only nominated for an Oscar for the first time, at the age of 72, as the best actress in a supporting role, for Edward Berger’s “Konlave”. Then she plays the silent, concentrated sister Agnes, who notices everything behind the scenes. If Isabella Rossellini won on Sunday evening, she will write Hollywood story: her mother Ingrid Bergman has won three Oscars, but a mother-daughter couple has never been awarded the Academy before.
