Russia sees Zelensky’s visit to the US as “political failure”

Russia has described on Saturday as a “absolute political and diplomatic failure” the visit of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, to the United States, who ended in a harsh discussion with host Donald Trump and vice president DJ Vance.

“The V. Zelensky leader’s visit to Washington on February 28 was an absolute political and diplomatic failure for the Kiev regime,” wrote Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova in a comment on the folder’s website.

Russia, she said, repeatedly stated that “Zelensky is incompetent, corrupt and unable to commit to.”

Zakharova insisted that it was Ukraine that “refused to continue negotiations on a political and diplomatic agreement in the spring of 2022, using lies and manipulation to justify the continuation of hostilities and receive military and financial assistance from the West.”

“With his scandalously rude behavior during his Washington stay, Zelensky confirmed that he is the most dangerous threat to the world community as an irresponsible instigator of a great war,” he added.

The spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy has described the Ukrainian leader as “a cynical who doesn’t care about anything and is only obsessed with maintaining the power he has usurped.”

In the White House, he added, Zelensky received a “severe rebuke” from Trump, which “also shows the political weakness and the extreme moral degradation of European leaders who continue to defend support for the leader of the Nazi regime, which has lost contact with reality.”

Zakharova reiterated that Russia’s goals are unchanging and remain demilitarization and disinzification of Ukraine, as well as the recognition of the realities in the place.

“The sooner Kiev and some European capitals realize this, the closer will be the peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis,” he concluded.
