The most range of ice hockey match in play-off history

The 9: 6 victory of the Graz99ers for the quarter-final start in Linz was the most hit play-off game of 25-year history.

The quarter-finals of the ICE ice hockey league started with a record spectacle. The Black Wings Linz and Graz 99ers delivered an open exchange of blows on Sunday, which the guests from Graz won 9: 6. According to Puls24 statistics, the 15 goals are the most hit play-off game in 25-year league history. Red Bull Salzburg (3-2 against Fehervar) and KAC (4-0 against Pustertal) started with home wins, the VSV lost 1: 4 in South Tyrol.

In Linz it was completely dispensed with. A 4: 4 stood on the scoreboard after the first 20 minutes after a third with double packs on both sides had shaped the third. The Grazer lay early by Paul Huber (2nd) and Frank Hora (3rd) 2: 0, but the Black Wings were by no means shocked. The goal spectacle continued after the break, although no longer to the extent. The next two fast goals in a row by Kevin Roy (31st) and Michael Schiechl (32nd) brought the Grazer the lead after two thirds, which they no longer gave them out. Linz made a goal twice, but in the end the guests cheered.

Master and runner -up won

Favorite victories were given by Master Salzburg and runner -up Kac. Thanks to Benjamin Nissner (5th, 21st /pp) 2-0, the red bulls, who won all four season games against Fehervar and the previous three play-off duels, took the connecting goal only 21 seconds later. A Powerplay goal by Peter Schneider (54./pp) fixed the victory in the finish.

The KAC, winner of the basic round, and HCB South Tyrol celebrated safely home wins. The second games of the “Best of Seven” series will take place on Tuesday with exchanged home right.
